How do I join the UK Wedding Association?
Joining the UK Wedding Association is straightforward. Any credible wedding business can sign up. Simply subscribe to your membership online. It’s an annual membership fee of £300, with no additional cost to pay monthly (£25 / month). See Membership Terms and Conditions for details.
Once you are registered, you complete the online benchmarking questionnaire, which assesses your professionalism, sustainability efforts and overall credibility. As soon as the basic criteria are met, your Member badge is available to download instantly. From your first payment, you can also access the full range of member benefits including training, networking, exclusive discounts and resources and expert support.
What are the benefits of joining the UK Wedding Association?
There are several benefits to joining the UK Wedding Association. From education and networking to exclusive discounts from partner brands, members gain support that helps them grow and stay competitive. Every member also gets access to the Association’s benchmarking system and, once they have adhered to the minimum requirements, they can display the industry-recognised badge – an instant trust marker that shows couples their business is credible and professionally run.

What are the minimum requirements for displaying the Association’s badges?
Any wedding-related business can join the UK Wedding Association, but to display the official Member badge, you must have been trading for at least 12 months and agree to the Association’s Code of Conduct. We hope that newer businesses will join for the education, support and benchmarking tools, before being eligible to display the badge after they’ve been trading for a year.
How do I get my badge?
Your badge will be available to download within your member hub once the minimum requirements have been met. Founding Members will receive their badge via email.
Are there discounted membership rates for new, small or part time businesses?
We welcome new, small and part time businesses, as these businesses tend to have less access than others to a professional support network, and can gain the most from their membership. We want to treat every business as a respected and self-sufficient professional and as such, we don’t offer discounted rates.
Is membership per person, or per business?
Membership is per business, with the benchmarking and profile specifically relating to a single business operating from a specific trading address. So, if your business is part of a larger group, for example different retail branches, or venues from within a group, each branch or venue should join and benchmark separately. Anyone from the business can access membership benefits by using the single login provided, and any one representative can attend in-person events.
Can more than one person from our business attend events?
We give priority to one person from each business to attend events, with any additional attendees welcome if space permits. We will hold a waiting list and release any available spaces a week before the event.
I supply a service to wedding businesses. Can I join?
We welcome all genuine members of the wedding community as members, including those offering B2B services such as wedding consultancy. B2B suppliers can join as a member, paying the usual fee, or in some cases as a Supporting Partner.
Do you offer corporate memberships?
We will, in future, offer a limited number of corporate memberships to relevant businesses that would like to supply this sector. Our focus is entirely on UK wedding venues and suppliers who supply a product or service to couples or planners, so applications for corporate membership will only be considered where the business offers a product or service of genuine value to the wedding industry.
Does the UK Wedding Association refund couples if a member goes out of business?
No. Any contract and payment agreement is strictly between the couple and the individual wedding business. However, the UK Wedding Association exists to raise standards and reduce risk for couples. Any members displaying the Association’s badge have agreed to a code of conduct. If a member does cease trading, the UKWA will remove them from membership, and assist couples where appropriate. The UK Wedding Association is not a booking agent or payment handler, and does not hold client funds, but membership is designed to give couples greater confidence when choosing trusted wedding businesses.
