Network with Industry Experts

Business owners networking

In the wedding industry, knowing the right people can make all the difference. That’s why one of the standout benefits of joining the UK Wedding Association is the direct access to experts across every sector of the UK wedding market.

Why this matters in practice

The UK wedding industry covers a wide range of business models, from small independents to large venues and international brands. Even businesses working at a high level are often dealing with unfamiliar territory, whether that’s pricing, contracts, staffing, sustainability, marketing or growth. Running a venue, planning business or supplier company often means making big commercial, legal and strategic decisions without easy access to people who have already solved similar problems.

UKWA brings those different experiences into one place, making it easier for members to learn from people who have already navigated the same challenges, and to make more confident, better-informed decisions.

That includes peers, specialists and, crucially, the UKWA Advisory Board, and we do this in 3 ways.

1. Our Networking and Educational Events

We are a working network, not just a social one. UK Wedding Association networking events are structured around useful connection.

We host 10 events each year, in London and regionally. Events combine education, discussion and networking, so members can learn and also build useful relationships with people dealing with similar business issues.

Through these in-person networking events and facilitated introductions, members can:

  • find partners they can trust
  • get help with commercial decisions
  • get introductions to useful connections

2. Access to Industry Leaders

One of the most practical benefits of UKWA membership is access to its Advisory Board.

Every Advisory Board member has built and run a successful business in the wedding industry. Between them, they bring decades of experience and extensive professional networks, including venues, planners, media, suppliers and international partners they can refer members to where appropriate.

The Board includes senior figures with expertise across:

  • publishing, media and press relations
  • sustainability, ESG and responsible business
  • large-scale venue operations and hospitality
  • international and destination weddings
  • PR, brand positioning and reputation management
  • marketing, digital strategy and audience growth
  • business strategy, scaling and commercial planning
  • pricing, margins and profitability
  • leadership, team structure and recruitment
  • training, education and professional standards
  • supplier and venue partnerships
  • industry regulation, compliance and best practice

Their full biographies are available on the About Us page.

They have joined the Association’s Advisory Board specifically to help members run more professional, credible, sustainable and commercially successful businesses, and most are happy to have a quick call with members to help with specific challenges, from sustainability policies and positioning to pricing, PR or operational structure. These are not sales calls. They are part of their commitment to supporting the industry.

3. Access to Helpful Information

Members have access to a growing Resource Hub containing articles, guidance and practical material that isn’t available to the wider industry.

This includes insight from the Advisory Board, ambassadors and other highly respected industry speakers and educators. Resources include best practice documents, checklists and practical advice covering the day-to-day realities of running a wedding business, saving you time and money. Alongside this are summaries of key industry developments and working documents designed to support better commercial and operational decisions.

Everything is curated to support professionalism, sustainability and long-term credibility, so members can stay informed without having to filter through the conflicting commercially-motivated information found elsewhere.

Why this structure works

By bringing together venues, planners and suppliers in the same professional network, UKWA creates opportunities for learning and collaboration that don’t happen when groups are separated by sector.

The aim is to support stronger businesses and a more confident, credible and connected wedding industry.
